Re: Golly bugs
Here's some code I use to test it. Works fine on macOS but haven't yet tried it on Windows/Linux: local g = golly() g.show( g.query("Do something?", "Click on a button or hit the escape key to Cancel.") ) g.show( g.query("Try again?", "Only Yes or No.", "Yes", "No", "") ) g.show( g.query("Try yet a...

Re: Suggested LifeWiki edits
The LW:NB is still confusing that I couldn't even know if a pattern is notable. I think the important part is this: A topic for which this criterion is deemed to have been met by consensus is usually worthy of notice. Verifiable facts and content that are not deemed notable may be appropriate for i...

Intuitive understanding?
Helping intuitive understanding is much more important than "documenting existing common usage".
If readers are confused by counterintuitive/vague/ambiguous terminology, then no amount of lexicographic activity will fix that.

Re: Rule definition terminology
I think this example helps to show the difference between the forums and the LifeWiki. Some people (not me) argue that there's no difference. Well, here it is. Probably "There is a clean 1D replicator that works by toggling 2 birth conditions in the rule which has a chaotic 2D replicator." Again, i ...

Re: Rule definition terminology
The "green writeup" is misleading in several ways, beginning from the first sentence. (1) The word 'transition' is not a single well-defined useful term. It is a jargon word, used here on these forums, with several different meanings in different contexts. I already listed some of the existing meani...

The community doesn't really need you "looking at the discussion so far". There is no "we". There is only your opinion (stated and restated again and again) about what is supposed to be "consensus". Currently Lua scripts can use the scripting command "g.savechanges(query, message)" to show a sort of a confirmation dialog, where there are three buttons (yes, no, cancel).
