One of the P2 agars in jslife becomes P5 if S4 is added to the survival conditions.

Code: Select all

There is a thread for that rule here.

I've learned that of the 65536 OT rules without B0 or B1, 36624 (about 56%) have a p2 oscillator that fits within a bounding box with area ≤ 10.

With gfind there is no asymmetric c/8d at width 8. There is also no c/8d at width 7 with bilateral symmetry, width 9 with gutter symmetry, or width 10 with glide-reflect symmetry. The first search reached a depth of at least 110, but regular gfind lacks a dumping feature. EDIT : The bound for glide ...

Re: Catagolue Oddities

Catagolue no longer animates preview images for certain periodic objects with period below 100, but the images are still fit to the largest phase (by bounding box), so patterns with large variations in bounding box, such as the object on this census page, have awkwardly cropped preview stills.

This is an outer-totalistic rule, so you can just use normal zfind. I hope that helps at the higher widths.
You claim that this would be less memory-intensive? Where would I find regular zfind?
