Updated 4in1 collection:

Code: Select all

Next time you add a custom rule to LifeWiki Rule namespace, please leave some notes. Leaving others trying to figuring out what do the states do and how they interact is pretty time-wasting.

There's three more two-state aliases from MCell which I don't know the hensel/MAP notation for: - LogicRule (isotropic) - Snowflakes (non-isotropic) - Sierpinski (non-isotropic) I'm not sure how to easily figure out the rulestrings for these though. The files in MCell use the notation described in ...

Hey, why not design rules for games? For instance, a game that asks one to lay pipes to connect a water souce to a sink needs the following states: state 0 background state 1 water source right state 2 water source up state 3 water source left state 4 water source down state 5-8 water sink empty rig...

This method doesn't seem effective, but making a 256-state ruletable in golly with markings like these and drawing isn't easy either.

A couple of questions:
Does this rule have photons of all periods? Is there any non-lightspeed spaceship?
What in this rule is yet to be developed?

A draft for an Lifewiki article on this rule is available in my userspace under the name "loafer" (don't ask). Does anyone want to complete it?

LifeViewer is now equipped with the command RAMDOMIZE to create a random pattern upon launching. I tried to put one in the soup page.
Can we integrate such a LifeViewer in Template:Rule, replacing the static image and showing the motion of a rule?

Unrelated, why does catagolue have xq1_11_66_22 and xs2_11_66_22 simultaneously? It seems that many photons are both in xs and in xq tabulations.
