Good question. It turns out that I never ventured into the wilderness of 40-bit 1-cell thick patterns. :?

[Golly] "LifeHistory" for CA other than Life

Hello to all: Just a quick question. Is there a trick to get the LifeHistory functionality for an arbitrary cellular automaton e.g. B38/S238? I'm trying these two commands successively: g_setrule("B357/S238"); g_setrule("LifeHistory"); But it seems as if LifeHistory is hardwired to B3/S23. Tha...

[Golly] Random Fill probability < 1%

Just a quick question: Is there a way in Golly to get Random Fill probabilities inferior to 1% with/without scripting?.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Thread For Your Useless Discoveries

I can usually resist this kind of thing, but today I noticed that a kickback reaction into one of Guam's snazzy new 2G-to-G converters produces a fairly clean output glider on the same relative lane, so you get a chain reaction. OK. Bravo! http://forums.sexyandfunny.com/images/smilies/more/bravo.gif
