Re: Massive spam attacks on the wiki (and forums?)

How about putting a limit on page title lengths, and anything that exceeds that number blocks the user (if not a trusted account)? How about: "Untrusted users can only edit their own User pages"? From my experience on other forums, SEO spambots will often sign up accounts on wikis only to fill thei...

Re: 17 in 17: Efficient 17-bit synthesis project

You're using synthesise-constellation-ee9.py , right, not the synthesise-patt version? So the problem is not finding two beehives at specific offsets, it's finding one out of hundreds or thousands of those patterns where the reaction envelope doesn't get in the way of some pre-existing pattern. Wow, I'm amazed that took so long. Do you ever run u or v searches? Asymmetric comes with gutter, but that leaves a strange gap in searching for some speeds. The laptop I ran these searches on isn't exactly high-end... in fact I'm surprised the search only took 43 days. I was prepared to wait anoth...

Re: Oscillator Discussion Thread

How does 44p14 look like? This would be much easier to answer if you give a little context in the question. Where did you run into a reference to "44p14"? It seems like there might have been a typo somewhere along the line for 34p14 . The Wiki page for Tumbler mentions a 44P14, discovered in 1997.
