wow! I think the guns are getting very good I think I could not make a better contribution as my only idea is to improve the guns using the semi snarks at least my insistence served to irritate you to the point of making a list update, this is a good thing (I think) I have to be careful not t...

Re: Glider Guns of large periods
If they were so trivial, these gliders guns should be appear in the list and this is not the case. Unfortunately Paul Callahan's web pages are just an archive copy -- that list hasn't been updated in well over a decade, I believe. Jason Summers has the most recent version of this glider gun collect...

Re: Glider Guns of large periods
Of course they are trivial, because they are built from known components. I think the patterns I design are simple, but are not so trivial If they were so trivial, these gliders guns should be appear in the list and this is not the case According to your definition of trivial, everything was built ...

Re: Glider Guns of large periods
I think the challenges in this area are: 1. Update the collection of smallest glider guns, using the new discoveries. 2. Write scripts that create small guns (i.e. O(log(N)) of any arbitrary large period. well ... I had suggested a few models of glider guns that are not on this list : http://www.ra...

Re: Glider Guns of large periods
@Herik Yep You can implement the same idea with any "N state" Machine. This 3 multiplier requires a little bit more precise timing, and the "back shoot" glider should be timed more precisely, and should have 1 and 2 shoots option. But it's the same basic idea. I think the simplest to implement it's...

yes, I agree. starting with those parts is easy to build glider guns with long periods, but I had not found yet an easy way to do it before. So I developed this method (do not know if it's necessarily the best or easiest) is just a way of making it. http://imageshack.com/a/img856/4926/6lls.jpg 4096 ...

All still-lifes up to 24 bits have been counted, but there has not, as yet, been any attempt to systematically list or count larger ones. Still, since there are over 4 million 24-bit ones, and each bit added increases the number by approximately 2.45, there should be around 6 trillion 40-bit ones a...
