Simple rule string that I created when messing around and it's very easily memorable. Any orthogonal line is a replicator and diagonal lines with ends capped with orthogonal lines are puffers. Pure diag ships dont qualify as the change in direction happens before completely leaving the bounding box. If they're high enough period they will leave the bounding box before their mod happens. That would severely limit cases where when changing directions, the ship has a different form per direction. So is it possible to use replicator guns (they can collide gliders too) to infinitely hassle a pulsar through a racetrack (maybe even convert it through different stuff like glider and flipper) to make a high period oscillator?
