Administrator attention

If you have an account at the forums, it might be worth pinging our two administrators, User:Nathaniel and/or User:Sokwe as there are a bunch of spam pages to delete. I'd do it myself, but I haven't (yet) signed up on the forum... JWatCCI 18:37, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

rulespecial

When filling in the rulespecial thing, should I just list any possible rules in the Well-known Life-like cellular automata section of Cellular automaton? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yimmy (talkcontribs) 02:14, 15 February 2015‎

Hi! First of all, welcome to LifeWiki and thank you for your useful contributions! The list you mentioned is probably too long, but fortunately they won't be listed all at once :) Let's see how it goes. Please sign yourself with four tildes (~~~~) on talk pages. Keep up the good work! Codeholic (talk) 07:59, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
Also, should I bother trying with methesulas even though it's very unlikely? Yimmy (talk) 19:59, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
If you mean adding rulespecial, I think it's not worth bothering. Methuselahs are not considered that interesting or important anymore. Codeholic (talk) 07:19, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi I saved you taked mine pooa123 32 cellular still life out for being not notable well since you takes it away probably this should be deleted too? http://www.conwaylife.com/wiki/Category:Strict_still_lifes_with_32_cells

Fishingrod

Hey there, you took down my page Fishingrod for not being notable. Well, I just wanted to know what exactly made it not notable because first it's one of the few patterns to naturally emit a lightweight spaceship and second it is a methuselah pattern and with 5314 generations, tonns of escaping spaceships and the highest F/L ratio on the wiki yet (in my opinion) notable. Greetings — Preceding unsigned comment added by .:91054AS (talkcontribs)

F/L ratio? I think you misinterpret notability criteria for methuselahs. And by the way, please adhere to the policy not to create pages about patterns you discovered on your own. Codeholic (talk) 05:26, 1 October 2015 (UTC)
Can I have the RLE? -wwei23 10:50 9/30/2015 NY time
He didn't provide any, but it allegedly had 47 cells. Codeholic (talk) 06:08, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Something rare I saw

This morning, when I was playing Conway`s Multiplayer Game of Life, I saw a natural LWSS AND this pattern:

x = 7, y = 5, rule = LifeHistory
3.A$2.A.A$2.A.A$A.A.A.A$2A3.2A!

LifeWiki:Tiki bar

Howdy! The LifeWiki's lacked a central discussion page so far, so I've gone ahead and created the LifeWiki:Tiki bar as a friendly place where the community can get together to discuss things in a relaxed atmosphere. You're cordially invited to join in!

The first discussion I started is on how to best integrate the LifeViewer applet (LV:Viewer) that is now available on the LifeWiki thanks to User:Nathaniel's efforts.

See you at the bar! Apple Bottom (talk) 11:25, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Venetian blinds

What would the general structure of a Venetian Blinds spacefiller look like? -wwei23 8:03 PM 5/29/2017 NY time
