Second glider domain

From LifeWiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The second glider domain of an edge shooter is the set of spacetime offsets, relative to the glider stream emitted by the edge shooter, where a second independent glider stream may be present without interfering with the edge shooter. This is useful to know, because edge shooters are often used to generate glider streams very close to other glider streams, to make for example a spaceship gun or converter.

The term was coined by Dietrich Leithner in 1996.[1][2]
