Pony express is the first completely natural infinite growth pattern that is neither the block-laying switch engine or the glider-producing switch engine, instead being a combination of both of these. It was found by Apple Bottom using Adam P. Goucher's apgsearch script on September 16, 2015, but was not added to the Catagolue census until September 28.
