A period-33 glider gun is any glider gun that produces a period-33 glider stream. A true period 33 gun was discovered by Arie Paap on October 3, 2018.[1] The underlying interaction of 2 copies of Jason's p33 was found by Matthias Merzenich the previous day.[2] The large period-3 sparker is necessary to suppress a spark of one copy of the p33 engine that would otherwise interact with the produced glider. It is the first known true period 33 gun and represented the smallest odd period known for a true period gun until the discovery of the period-21 glider gun.
