Middleweight emulator is a period-4 oscillator found by Robert Wainwright in June 1980 .[1] It is one of the three standard emulators and produces sparks similar to those of the middleweight spaceship . It is often used in the construction of larger oscillators, such as 145P20 .
A four-fold version of this oscillator appeared semi-naturally in April 2016 .[2]
Variants
A larger but higher-clearance mechanism is known, that has been used as a catalyst in CatForce searches by Carson Cheng and Mitchell Riley , the latter of whom found a variant of the p4-assisted period-28 glider gun using two copies of it.
