This page lists selected stator variants of the period-2 oscillator beacon, many of which have appeared frequently in random starting configurations.

Beacon on some induction coil

Several induction coils with a line of four or six can be added to beacon. Naturally, some of the more common variants are a result of an active region hitting a beacon acting as a boat-bit; see relevant note for details.

Alternative bushing of beacon

A common alternative bushing of the diagonal on-off features a line of five with a terminal dent. When analyzed in isotropic non-totalistic notation, one of the rotor cells turns ON via B3a and OFF via -S4q as in the original beacon, but the other rotor cell uses B3j and -S4k. They are shown in the following table.
