24P10 is a period-10 oscillator discovered by Matthias Merzenich on November 12, 2010.[1] In terms of its minimum population of 24 cells, it is currently the smallest known non-trivial period 10 oscillator, although the trivial bipole tie pseudo-barberpole contains only 23 cells.[2]

It first appeared semi-naturally on October 17, 2018, in a symmetric soup submitted to Catagolue by carybe.[3] Later on November 9, 2018, Martin Grant found a 15-glider synthesis of the oscillator.[4] On April 18, 2023, a 10-glider synthesis was discovered, with help from QuFince.[5][6]

It can be occasionally be used in LCM oscillators; one example is the smallest known period-50 oscillator, 24P10 on 30P25.
