The honey farm explosion can be controlled with one fewer glider, allowing this to tie the old method:

I can't find the object in jslife, and it's certainly not in Dean Hickerson's oscillator collection --
Code:

I'm still waiting patiently for the first p7 to show up in the C1 census. (Or another new prime period -- I'm not too picky.)

Can anyone find a way to improve its cleanup?
Also for a name, maybe something to do with "slowing lump of muck" (as part of it looks like one of the stages for lumps of muck)?

That's a stator variant of the

I found it back in September 2014 in a random agar search. It's included in my

Nice. Actually, it's only 14 gliders, and cleanup can be done with 3 gliders instead of 4, reducing it to 13. (It might also be possible with 2 if you look hard enough):

If you advance that a bit, the predecessor becomes even simpler. Here it is from 10 gliders. (9 might be possible; many positions of the cleanup glider leave the beehive+blinker combination, and some leave 1-2 other objects. It's possible one might leave nothing, of you try an exhaustive search). As a bonus, all gliders approach from only 2 directions, which might make constructing a 4-snark glider-loop easier.

@ mniemiec The big finding is that it's now possible to use in slow salvo construction for self constructing circuitry.
Any idea how to end the snark using SL seeds?

I meant that one could use gencols or similar to find a small glider-triggered constellation that produces a block at the edge of its reaction envelope.

Nice. Actually, it's only 14 gliders, and cleanup can be done with 3 gliders instead of 4, reducing it to 13. (It might also be possible with 2 if you look hard enough):
Code: Select all
x = 280, y = 71, rule = B3/S23
