"Weeding" Out Oscillators?

"Weeding" Out Oscillators?

Post by Extrementhusiast » July 27th, 2010, 8:29 pm

Is there a script that can "weed" out the oscillators for a couple of rules? These rules have a lot of still lifes and a lot of oscillators. They are B478/S234678 and B45678/S1234. (These rules are also posted in the Other Cellular Automata section.)

Hi! Just realized this was posted very long ago, so I´ll be surprised if you answer. Perhaps you have learned a bit more about "weeding out" uninteresting patterns before they interfere with other patterns? I've started playing with removing blocks and beehives for standard GOL-rules.
