Are you looking for the largest known period of an oscillator that fits in a 10 by 10 bounding box?

Is it accurate to say that you are searching for the biggest known time of an oscillator that fits in a 10 by 10 bouncing box?

If you require that it fits in a 10-by-10 box in all its phases, then yes.Kiran wrote:Definitely less then 1267650600228229401496703205376.
Otherwise, I don't see why a small 10-by-10 methuselah couldn't expand, methuselah-like, into (say) a 20-state busy beaver Turing machine, run for an incredibly long amount of time, and self-destruct leaving only a couple of salvos of gliders which eventually collide and synthesise the 10-by-10 methuselah in its original location.
