Welcome to the forums! I suppose that this should been said by a moderator instead, but let me take over the place first.

If you want to post a pattern, please use code tags or pattern tags:

The "Sir Robin" you said is actually 2-engine cordership, also the "new" puffer is actually just block laying switch engine. But nice manual find! (They do occur naturally, so don't get surprised because of it.)

EDIT:
Also, please don't make a new thread if you found something. Post them in an existing appropriate thread instead.

To clarify: by "they", do you mean just the block-laying switch engine (which did occur in b3s23/C1), and not 2-engine Cordership or Sir Robin (neither of which is natural)?

I mean the BLSE and 2-engine Cordership (which had occurred naturally once). Sir Robin is found by combining partials,thus it's unlikely to occur from soups.

As far as I know, 2-engine Cordership never occurred in b3s23/C1:

2-engine Cordership is not yet natural. A 16×16 predecessor exists, but such predecessor hasn't occurred by random chance.

Please link to the source of the patterns, which in this case seems to be viewtopic.php?p=98533#p98533

This is not really a soup, because it was not generated randomly. It is a predecessor found by a search program using a different approach.

Can you put your RLEs in [ code ] tags by pressing the </> button while highlighting your RLE?
Example:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = B3/S23

A much simpler way to post patterns is by clicking the "pattern" button, visible above the "post a reply" form. For example, this is the middleweight spaceship:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 5, rule = B3/S23
2bo$o3bo$5bo$o4bo$b5o!

If you decide to share your discovery with the forums, please do not post an image of the pattern. Instead, post the RLE code of the pattern within "pattern" tags. The easiest way to obtain the RLE code of a pattern is to select the pattern in Golly and then copy it to your clipboard.
