## Herschel-less glider duplicator

For discussion of specific patterns or specific families of patterns, both newly-discovered and well-known.

### Herschel-less glider duplicator

There is no good reason why this isn't already known:

### Re: Herschel-less glider duplicator

The dual variant has a recovery time of 769, which is marginally less embarrassing than 961:

I don't imagine these Herschel-less glider duplicators will be setting any records any time soon.

Still-life reduction:
`x = 13, y = 8, rule = LifeHistory2.2A\$2.A.A\$4.A\$4A.2A\$A2.A.A.A.2A\$3.A.A.A.A\$4.2A.A.A\$8.A`

EDIT: Never mind, it seems this doesn't work. (Thanks, Saka, for pointing this out!)

Very nice! The known century conduits in the Elementary Conduits Collection are getting a little more exercise recently. Yes, someone should have tried replacing that century eater a little sooner -- the old bistable switch seems to have gotten obscured in collective Lifenthusiast memory by the Silver reflector, and then the Snark I suppose.

I seem to recall this apparent improvement has been posted before somewhere. Try it out in an actual Snark:

`x = 23, y = 52, rule = LifeHistory9.A\$9.3A\$12.A\$11.2A\$11.5B3.C\$13.3B3.C.C\$3.2A7.4B3.2C\$3.A4B4.4B\$2A.A.14B\$A2.3A4B2A7B\$.2A2.BA3B2A7B\$3.4A12B\$3.A.2B2.8B.B2A\$4.3AB2.7B.BA.A\$7.A3.5B5.A\$4.3A5.4B5.2A\$4.A7.5B\$14.4B\$15.4B\$16.4B\$17.4B\$18.4B9\$9.A\$9.3A\$12.A\$11.2A\$11.5B3.C\$13.3B3.C.C\$3.2A7.4B3.2C\$3.A4B4.4B\$2A.A.14B\$A2.3A4B2A7B\$.2A2.BA3B2A7B\$3.4A12B\$3.A.2B2.8B.B2A\$4.3AB2.7B.BA.A\$7.A3.5B5.A\$2.5A5.4B5.2A\$2.A9.5B\$4.A9.4B\$3.2A10.4B\$16.4B\$17.4B\$18.4B!`

So far it seems like every bit in the Snark catalyst has a purpose, even those unlikely ones off in the corner.
