Interestingly enough, the beehive gets moved at exactly forty-five degrees! That means a diagonal puffer would do the trick for stabilization and production. Now if only we could find one of those...
With a displacement of exactly (8,8). Serendipity strikes again!

Technically, it's a puffer. Interestingly enough, I also found that very same puffer! Anyway, a beehive gets moved by a pi heptomino:

Code: Select all

.O....
O.O...
O.O...
.O....
......
...OOO
...O..
...OOO
Glider gets reflected by B-heptomino and leaves some debris:

Code: Select all

x = 10, y = 6, rule = B3/S23

Adding a fishhook makes a pulsar. Is this the best slow salvo formula?
No, fish-hooks are quite expensive to construct using slow-salvo technology. This glider + 2 blocks synthesis (H. Koenig, I believe) is much easier to construct.

Code: Select all

x = 28, y = 32, rule = B3/S23

What do you do with ill crystallographers? Take them to the mono-clinic!

Changes the phase of the blinkers:

Code: Select all

x = 21, y = 12, rule = B3/S23

Do just one blinker:

Delete a blinker regardless of phase:

Using a Herschel to delete a blinker:

Code: Select all

x = 25, y = 11, rule = B3/S23
24bo$2b3o19bo$24bo6$3o18b3o$bo20bo$b3o18b3o!
I noticed in my previous post that if the blinker is in the other phase initially, it will be deleted. Therefore a double application of the phase change reaction will delete the blinker regardless of its initial phase. The Herschel does it with a single stage reaction.

Edit:
It is also possible, with proper synchronization, to keep re-inverting the phase of the blinker with the glider collision reaction.

That's what I *tried* to do in my avatar, but it didn't work. It also moves the blinker.
