Is this known (double post):
Code: Select all
x = 15, y = 12, rule = B3/S23
12bo$12b3o$12bobo$14bo4$4b2o$4b2o2$2o5b2o$2o5b2o!
Triple post, actually.
When someone posts a question, especially an "is this known?" question, and nobody answers... it's probably because
1) nobody knows the answer, or
2) there really isn't a good answer because it's not a very clear question.
In either case, it's not going to help anything to ask the same question again and again. That will only annoy everyone.
Request for Better Labeling
It would be somewhat better if you would at least take the time to explain what "this" is. For example, if you had included the text
This is a B60 conduit with the Herschel offset by one cell. It produces an MWSS and some other junk.
... then each individual reader of your posts wouldn't have to spend the time to pull up LifeViewer and run the pattern to find out what you were so excited about. They would know what you were talking about, because you told them.
This is exactly the same problem that I've been
trying to explain to Gustone recently. Come to think of it, Gustone's unlabeled pattern also produces a *WSS -- there are a lot of similarities here.
Attempt at an Answer
I'm fairly sure that nobody memorizes explosive interactions between Herschels and three blocks, no matter how much they resemble a
B60 conduit. So technically the answer is that no, it's not known.
But the next question is, why
should it be known? This particular explosion releases an MWSS, but then leaves a fairly large mess. MWSSes are not particularly rare, so unless you can explain why the reaction is useful for something somehow, it's going to fall into the
"not even useless" category, along with the millions of other dirty *WSS seed constellations that apgsearch constantly finds and discards.
Time for me to say "please"
Please don't post random stuff multiple times with no explanation. If you're not getting a response, the problem is not that you haven't posted often enough. It's that you didn't put in enough effort thinking about the pattern and explaining it to everyone, the first time you posted.
In your previous repost, you added the line "I deserve to be ignored." That's a completely silly thing to put in any forum message. Nobody wants to read posts where you're pointlessly putting yourself down.
Please make a habit of re-reading your posts before posting them, just to make sure they say something about the pattern you found... and
not about what you think that other people think about you.
You don't seem to have a very good track record at guessing what other people are thinking -- and in any case, Guessing What Other People Are Thinking is generally off-topic for these forums.
One more sample of "not even useless"
Speaking of accidental discoveries: if you misplace the Herschel in the opposite direction, you get a clean one-time H-to-2G instead of an MWSS-plus-mess:
Code: Select all
x = 15, y = 14, rule = B3/S23
6b2o5b2o$6b2o5b2o2$9b2o$9b2o6$o$obo$3o$2bo!
If everyone posted everything like this that they find, that is maybe vaguely surprising in some way... how many tens of thousands of posts would we have to wade through to find the discoveries that might actually be useful for something?
