I'm pretty sure that's new. And it's really nice.

It's definitely new -- congratulations!

Yup, fairly sure I would have noticed that if it had gone by already. Nice discovery! What search were you doing?

It combines nicely with extensible fireship technology:

Congrats on the new c/10 pushalong!
What about naming it "Coppergut"? Because at it's front is the copperhead's main head and at the back it has the little "tail" of a block.

Other potential possibilities: "Cuttlefish" (reused from a suggestion for Copperhead itself), "Chalcocite" (the mineral form of Cu₂S, as this ship has two Copperhead-like components and one distinct one), or simply "78P10H1V0".

I was reserving that name for a new velocity, and would have named the fireship it. Fits here well, though.

There are lots of known completions with the same first seven rows. Might be some more matches hiding elsewhere, I didn't look really carefully. If a tail can be found to stabilize the next seven rows, that might be a new ship. But this may be search space that's already been covered pretty well. I like Cottonmouth, it's easy to pronounce fluidly and has to do with snakes. I think Cottonmouth would be a good name for the pushalong.
Things to work on:
- Find a (7,1)c/8 ship in a Non-totalistic rule (someone please search the rules)
- Find a C/10 in JustFriends
- Find a C/10 in Day and Night

While we're at it, "snake" could be made an (un)official nickname for a c/10 spaceship.

(There's some potential for confusion there, granted, but I don't see it being a problem in practice, anymore than -- say -- the existence of two different barges.)

The connection of this ship to the 2c/5 wave I was trying to support inspired another search which found this tagalong/pushalong. It connects to several other similar ships, these two are the only ones I found which have <= 90 cells:

Extending this C/8 partial at w10 g was negative:
x = 19, y = 24, rule = B3/S236bo5bo$6b2o3b2o$8bobo$5bo2bobo2bo$3b2obobobobob2o$6bobobobo$6bobobobo$3b3ob2ob2ob3o3$4bo9bo$3bob2o5b2obo$2bo13bo$3bo3b2ob2o3bo$3bo4bobo4bo$4bo3bobo3bo$4b4o3b4o$3bo11bo$2bobo9bobo$b2o13b2o$b2obo9bob2o$4bo9bo$obobo9bobobo$o17bo! The search took around 131 CPU hours. This still does not mean a C/8 does not exist at w10 g, but it does show that it does not with this frontend. I am currently running a C/8 search at w10 u, which will probably be much, much longer.

Here's an update to the small c/4 orthogonal and 2c/5 orthogonal ship collections:
c4o-and-2c5-small-ships-5-Apr-2018.zip

@wildmyron, I credited you as "WM" in ships-2c5-unique.rle since "AP" was already being used for Aidan Pierce. Do you want to be credited differently?

Sorry, I forgot to respond to this.

Thank you for continuing to maintain this collection and confirming the ships I posted are worth including. I'm happy for WM to be used as it is unambiguous and relates to me. If you used 3 letter initialisations then AJP would be appropriate, but it doesn't seem like there's any need for that and the two letter forms do format nicely.

I've spent the last month or so using ntzfind to search for low-width high-period ships, in hopes of finding the next Copperhead. Unfortunately there have been no positive results, but here are all the negative results:
