Looks pretty good to me!
I also had a quick look at the previous eater2 variant, which has three soups available now:
Code: Select all
x = 355, y = 46, rule = LifeHistory

EDIT: Now four soups, and this last one looks somewhat promising:
Code: Select all
x = 31, y = 21, rule = LifeHistory
4.A.2A.A.A.3A$.2A3.2A2.A3.A$2.A.A2.2A.2A.A$A.A.8A.2A$A.5A2.A.A3.A$A.

11.D.2D$24.3D.2D$23.D$24.3D.2D$26.2D2.D$29.2D!
There's nothing nearly as good here as the new version, but it looked as if possibly one of them could be adapted into a workable backward eater2 recipe -- the back of this eater2 variant is sort of vaguely close to the edge of the construction envelope, and maybe the reaction in the southwest can be suppressed a little better:
Code: Select all
x = 40, y = 37, rule = LifeHistory
25.2A$24.A2.A$25.2A8$29.2A$28.A2.A$28.A2.A$29.2A5$28.A$28.A$14.2A12.A
$14.2A3$6.2A$6.2A30.2A$38.2A$38.2A$36.A$36.A$24.2D.D8.A$24.2D.3D$30.D
$24.2D.3D$23.D2.2D$2A21.2D$2A!
So the question here is, what's the simplest constellation that can build a pre-beehive on the edge of its envelope, or otherwise make the resulting active reaction? I don't think there are any glider+1sL beehive conversions that quite allow this ignition to work.
