There's the LifeHistory page in the Rule Table Repository. Usually if the rule creator has done a good job, there will be decent descriptive comments in the header of the actual rule table file, in the Rules folder for any rule installed with Golly.

In addition to the resources that Dave points out, there's also a description on the wiki now. (Largely based, of course, on precisely those resources.)

All three are known rotors. The 39 bit version of the P5 was found by Hickerson. The other P5 casings are new.

At some point maybe I need to finish up my objects SQLite database so that I can distribute it. One of the record keys it includes is Hickerson's rotor descriptor, so it's easy to look up oscillators like this.
