Hi everyone!
I'm really new to CGOL,though quite a whil ago I also toyed with it a bit. I'm 16 years old, doing high school(or whatever the normal thing is to do in your country at that age) My school uses a lot of computers, so guess what I do during lessons? For this I'm still searching for a fully keyboard operatable CGOL. I read and look over the internet a lot during my free time. I'm trying to make a pattern which can stop spaceships, and then return to it's normal state, wherever the ship comes from and whatever it is. IDK if it's possible, but I want to try. I did get this thing in the process:
x = 62, y = 65, rule = B3/S23
$2bobo$b3o$2bobo$bob2o38$27b2o5b2o$27b2o5b2o2$31b2o$31b2o5$49b2ob2o$
48bo5bo$48bo6bo2b2o$48b3o3bo3b2o$53bo4$47b2o$47bo$48b3o$50bo!

Hi!

My name is Claudio Sonaglio. I am a 48 years old Electronic Engineer in Brazil working in the semiconductor market. I learned about Game of Life when I was in the begining of my graduation. Long time ago... As the years passed by, I never heard of it again. Recently I decided to check how this evolved and it was a nice surprise to see that there were so many people and so much knowledge around this concept.

I downloaded Golly a month ago at my iPad and started playing with it. The rule Wire World caught my attention but some things I wanted to make were not really possible with that rule. So, a couple of weeks ago I started to think about how to get what I wanted and create it over the same basic idea.

The effort to make it in an iPad was not reasonable, so I downloaded the PC version last week and during the weekend I finished the first version of the rule and some patterns. It´s a digital circuit simulator in fact, so I guess there may be people that would like to take a look. As I am a newbie, not sure if this can be share here in the forum and how to do it. Any hint is welcome!

Regards,
Claudio

Welcome to the forums! There's always room for new interesting rules and patterns. I'd say you might as well go ahead and start a new topic, "Digital Circuit Simulator" or something along those lines, either here in the Sandbox or more likely on the Other Cellular Automata board.

Include your rule text in the first post, inside a [code] ... [ /code] block, with a description of its intended purpose -- and then patterns after that in their own [code] blocks.

If you end up with several versions of your rule, you can either edit your first post and keep the rule name the same (if you're sure the new version is a big improvement and no one will prefer an older version) -- or keep the old rule and post new versions, either in separate messages or by editing the first post as before.

Thank you! I will add some more orientation comments as there are tricky details to create valid patterns and then create this new topic as you suggested. Have a great one!

Hi,

I just made a Life app for iOS. I know there are many of them, but I have some nice features (GPU acceleration, AirPlay, ...) Please take a look and tell me what you think :)

Well, next time please include a standalone gif (reduced size, palette) of your well done application in use, not a utebu videyo or a zeroinformation oneframe picture. Now, you won't(?) be handled as a bot

Could you please justify this animosity? The preceding post appears entirely legitimate to me.

I am sorry if I offended somebody with my previous post... I am just a developer and I made an Life app for fun. I was just (maybe too) excited to have it finally published :)

I know that I joined a few months ago, but I didn't introduce myself yet.
My name is FrancisMy real Polish name is Franek. I'm from Poland. I am 11 years old and go to elementary school. In free time I play Geometry Dash and Golly. I haven't got a brother, nor a sister, because siblings would destroy my life. My English is very good.
I also like maths and programming.

Hello everyone! I've been lurking here for over 2-3 years and finally decided to join. I don't remember exactly when I started lurking but I can provide a list of significant things that have happened since I first found these forums
83bismuth83 and mr. missed her hadn't joined.
Saka still had his avatar as his WLS ship
Drc you have changed your avatar way to many times for me to count
MAP rules were new n cool
Misc discoveries in OCA had 3 pages
Conduits in tlife happened
And last things I can remember now is the 15 in 15 synthesizing thread had started.
You will probably only see me in sandbox or OCA and most probably not posting any patterns. I do plan to mod some games because I'd like to see how people on this forum play. I was thinking of starting with mafia or Roll to dodge. Also you can find me on nationstates here (no the link is not a rick-roll)
Hope this wasn't too long for you all!
