Turning one discussion into another

Post by PkmnQ » April 5th, 2019, 6:21 am

A discussion about a fountain changed to a discussion about how we're not unique.

I was talking about how I almost never saw a fountain somewhere working. Then my dad mentioned how other people pronounce fountain like stain. Then "ain" reminded me of the berenstain bears, and how most people remembered it as berenstein bears. So I asked my mom about it, of course she got it wrong, I mentioned how others also made that mistake, and suddenly, out of nowhere, my dad said "but that means you are not unique. You are ordinary people."

Has this discussion change happened to anyone else?
