Re: "Picstar" takes you to COMPETITION
Welcome to the forums, Christoph. Unfortunately, your post is not appropriate for this board for the following reasons:
- The Patterns board is not for competitions. If you want to have a competition, you should have it in the sandbox.
- The Patterns board is only for patterns that work in Conway's Game of Life (B3/S23). Your pattern seems to work in a rule closely related to B3/S23-a4ei6 (as pointed out by Rocknlol).

Re: "Picstar" takes you to COMPETITION
excuse me guys, what exatly is the difference between b3/s23 and b3/s23-a4ei6?
cause i think i made a mistake and used b3/s23-a4ei6 instead of b3/s23... the pattern does not work under b3/s23... please can you tell me the difference?
i thought the standart configuration of the golly Client wich used b3/s23-a4ei6 is the "Standard" configuration...
greetings

Re: "Picstar" takes you to COMPETITION
Here is how B3/S23-a4ei6 is different from Life:
Cells in this configuration die despite having three neighbors:
Despite having four neighbors, the cells in the centers of these configurations survive to the next generation:
And all cells with six neighbors survive.
When Golly opens, it runs by default in the last rule it ran before it closed. The rule can be set by going to Control > Set Rule...
Cells in this configuration die despite having three neighbors:
Code: Select all
x = 3, y = 3, rule = B3/S23-a4ei6
2o$2o!
Code: Select all
x = 13, y = 3, rule = B3/S23-a4ei6
bo8bobo$3o7b3o$bo!
When Golly opens, it runs by default in the last rule it ran before it closed. The rule can be set by going to Control > Set Rule...
Re: "Picstar" takes you to COMPETITION
as you can see at the behavior of the "+", picstar wich is going off into a star does not Show any Special behavior for this rule...
am i right with this one?
