### Non-explosive B2a rules

This is a thread for non-explosive B2a rules. One I find interesting is B2-ek4i8/S04et.

The couple known elementary oscillators:

The right family is infinite, the only still life is the dot.

There are two common spaceships, a 6c/6 and a 4c/4:
x = 9, y = 10, rule = B2-ek4i8/S04etobo$6bobo$6bobo$obo5$obo$2bo! The latter is way less common. There's almost a c/2 spaceship that can be turned into a wick: x = 16, y = 3, rule = B2-ek4i8/S04etbo3bo2bo3bo2bo$2o5b2o5b2o$bo3bo2bo3bo2bo! The domino evolves into 4 dots and 2 6c/6 spaceships: x = 1, y = 2, rule = B2-ek4i8/S04eto$o!

Two dots can reflect a 6c/6 like so:
x = 24, y = 4, rule = B2-ek4i8/S04etobo20bo$6bobo$6bobo$obo20bo! They create p30+12n oscillators. There is a replicator, shown here with an endpost: x = 28, y = 16, rule = B2-ek4i8/S04eto$o$o$o$18bo$12bo5bo5bo$12bo5bo5bo3$15bo5bo5bo$15bo5bo5bo$21bo$3bo$3bo$3bo$3bo!

This is the first B2a rule I've ever seen with a natural p3, let alone such a small and common one in such a non-explosive rule.

EDIT: Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be apgsearchable. I don't like how apgsearch handles B2a rules in general — square soups tend to generate too many multi-engine puffers and rakes on the edges. I may try my hand at a bit of hacking to create a pseudo-symmetry with some sort of alternative soup shape that's more B2a-friendly, but I don't have time at the moment (maybe tomorrow).

Your rule doesn't quite cut it because there is a natural breeder.

EDIT: You might be close to one that does work, though.

I found some B3i and B1e agnostic ships, but the only ship I've seen on the forums that is B2a agnostic is that one. They posted that ship somewhere else a while ago, maybe you are remembering that. I may search for some more.
I and wildmyron manage the 5S project, which collects all known spaceship speeds in Isotropic Non-totalistic rules.

Things to work on:
- Find a (7,1)c/8 ship in a Non-totalistic rule
- Finish a rule with ships with period >= f_e_0(n) (in progress)

Confirmed. However, I don't understand the existence of some linear growth pattern. Anyway - this is quite fast - almost 1000 soups a second. Unfortunately we don't get ships from this, just oscillators (and indirectly guns).

By the way - I think one of the most interesting B2a rules I know of.

In general - I think it is worth adding an 'eating' frame around the soup - B2an3ekr4i7c/S1c2ci3iqy4-a5678 is an excellent example - otherwise it would have been tough to find guns fr the periods p=7 to p=32.

From what a can remember I found that ship with some variation of searchRule-matchPatt.py

I would say that adding a border could definitely help with apgsearch-ability of this rule, but I don't think you could rule out that breeder appearing even with the border.
