Dave Greene backformated it from 'loafer', which is the name of Josh Ball's spaceship -- so called because it moves slowly and pushes a loaf, the 7-cell still-life which in turn is named after an irreducible unit of bread.
Oh okay! Now understood it. Now some pattern have "blinkered" somewhere, pulled by a pushalong, and missed somewhere I can't find. Anyone helps?

I LOVE this sentence. It makes so much sense...
I FOUND VELCROREX' SPACESHIP
It may be my bad, anyway, I had a loafer that went haywire a few days ago, thanks to find it!
This is game of life, this is game of life!

I can't discover anything in Seeds other than a ton of ways of doing kaboom!

Hmm, it actually would have been a very good reason for Conway to pick out Seeds instead of b3/s23, only if he had been a prophet.

What the frick do you mean by "polluting"?
Hmm, let me see...

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/pollute
  1. (transitive) To make something harmful, especially by the addition of some unwanted product.
    The factory polluted the river when it cleaned its tanks.
  2. (transitive) To make something or somewhere less suitable for some activity, especially by the introduction of some unnatural factor.
    The lights from the stadium polluted the night sky, and we couldn't see the stars.
  3. (dated) To corrupt or profane
    But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted, as for murderers, fornicators, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their lot shall be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.” —Revelation 21:8 (RSV)
  4. To violate sexually; to debauch; to dishonour.
Answering your question, I guess, a little bit of everything.

Sorry I was really serious and you didn't gave me the answer I wish.
Just in case, let's just kindly stop this -- even you are starting to be way too offtopic for this thread.
And this that now I'm in an educated voice?

First of all, if you didn't get the answer you wished, though I answered the question you asked, that could only mean, that either you asked a wrong question, or just didn't bother to make it clear, what kind of answer you expected to get, and for some reason I'm not surprised about it at all.

Secondly, if my mind-reading skills are not letting me down, the question you wanted to ask was "How exactly do I pollute the forums, in your educated opinion?" Answering this hypothetical question, that has never been asked, you pollute the forums by posting unremarkable patterns all over the place, making inappropriate remarks, overquoting, lying to people and making up hoaxes.

But thirdly, and that's the most important, it apparently doesn't matter, what answers to your questions you're getting, as you tend to ignore them all.

Having said all that, I still assume your good faith, but it does not mitigate the fact that you cluttered communication on the forums. That's why from now on you will be blocked for one day for any inappropriate comment of yours in any thread other than the one you created for your education (I think it should be tolerated, assuming your good faith).

If you've got any questions or remarks regarding this policy, please don't reply in this or any other thread, but write me a private message. If you want to complain about me, please complain to any other moderator or to Nathaniel, but also via a private message.

@others Gustavo is right, sorry for the offtopic.

Yes, that's the smallest P10 oscillator in HighLife. Here is its Catagolue page.

I've been playing with Gfind and I found this C/2 spaceship in 34 life:

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 19, rule = B34/S34
5bo2$4b3o$3bobobo$4bobo$2bobobobo$3b2ob2o$2b2o3b2o2$2b7o$bob2ob2obo$bo
2b3o2bo$o2bo3bo2bo$4bobo$o2b2ob2o2bo$bo2b3o2bo$b2obobob2o$2b3ob3o$4b3o
!
This spaceship is smaller than the C/2 on the database at http://fano.ics.uci.edu/ca/rules/b34s34/.
I also found this C/4 spaceship on B37/S2378:

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 24, rule = B37/S2378
3b2ob2o$3bo3bo$4bobo$bo2bobo2bo$b2obobob2o$4bobo$3b2ob2o$4bobo$b2obobo

3bo3bo$2bobobobo$2bobobobo2$2b3ob3o!
This one isn't listed in the database either.

Playing around with bombers in B368/S23 gave a nice caber tosser, although since the return gliders return on the same diagonal they enter, there's no possibility of a variant-HighLife infinite glider hotel based on it.

RLE
This is not a caber tosser, but a glider loop.

Oops.
Speaking of which, would somebody like to try to clean this up a bit?
Some sort of spark interaction is needed after the first backward glider is emitted to eliminate debris and the second backward glider.

A P8 eater in pseudolife for the 2c5 glider:

This p8 oscillator in Seeds(B2) is small, but I didn't see it in any of the pattern collections.

Code: Select all

x = 10, y = 10, rule = B2/S
