I think this rule is interesting because it's similar to diamoeba but is very "diverse", kown speeds are c/4 (Orth. and Diag.), c/24,c/5,c/6 Diagonal,2c/7,c/7, and c/3 (from here)

I manage the 5S project, which collects all known spaceship speeds in Isotropic Non-totalistic rules. I also wrote EPE, a tool for searching in the INT rulespace.

Things to work on:
- Find (7,1)c/8 and 9c/10 ships in non-B0 INT.
- EPE improvements.

I am not sure what the speed limits are, but C/2 looks to be impossible. Those p3 C/3's are minimum width, which is ridiculous.
That's an impressive collection of ships! :D What is the speed of each "set" of ships? There looks to be quite a variety of speeds.

I have a table of the speeds found so far on the wiki. They are of many different speeds, and the only orthogonal up to p9 not found that is possible is a 2c/9 so far. I am searching for a C/7 diagonal now.

This last one doesn't work, it collapses down to a p2 after about 250 generations.

I am now running the search again but with "m2000" to stop more wickstretchers from being found and the search being quit. Maybe I should just do this every time I try a new search.

Nice! I hope this means there are ships.
I manage the 5S project, which collects all known spaceship speeds in Isotropic Non-totalistic rules. I also wrote EPE, a tool for searching in the INT rulespace.

Things to work on:
- Find (7,1)c/8 and 9c/10 ships in non-B0 INT.
- EPE improvements.

The speed limit for orthogonal ships appears to be c/3, but I'm not sure. However, diagonal ships can travel at c/5d, so maybe the speed limits are different for different directions. I'm not used to using wls to find spaceships, but since this rule is totalistic, maybe I'll give it a go.

The weird thing is, the gfind search at width 28 instantly finishes. This makes me think a p2 C/2 does not exist, at any reasonable width anyways. A 2c/4 might, but I have no partials for one.

LLS proves within no time that 2c/4 D2| is unsatisfiable (within 2 seconds for a 16x16 bbox), so it's probably down to how the combination of transitions disallows it early on.
EDIT: 2c/5 D2| in a 16x16 was also proven impossible in half a minute.
c/2 at C1 symmetry also proven in a 16x16 almost immediately.

@rhombic: those searches are way too narrow to get a good feel for the search space. I can't say I've found anything promising though, so it may well be that ships which travel at c/2 do not exist in this rule. I wonder if it's worthwhile making a distinction between "does not exist" and "impossible".

@AforAmpere: I'm still running the width 34 gfind search. The search tree seems to have exploded beyond a depth of about 80 though, so search progress has slowed to a crawl. I'm also tentatively running a few narrower searches to try to complete the partial a bit sooner.

After much needless searching I finally realised that the 6 cell wide p2 wick can burn very nicely at 2c/5 - if it's allowed to do so asymmetrically.

As I said, there are almost certainly smaller examples to be found, but I'm halting this search now. If anybody would like gfind dumps to continue the search at width 32 please let me know and I'll happily provide them.

Edit: I still think there's a possibility c/2 ships can exist in this rule, but I won't be searching for them, nor anything faster than 2c/5 such as 3c/7 which is probably also allowed in this rule.

I think it's also worth mentioning is that there are dozens of wickstretchers based on this frontend. Several were found after the first 150 columns, but many more emerge after the configuration near column 210 in the bottom arm of this pattern:
