I'm going to start managing a database of various spaceships in rules, totalistic or not. Just dump all your random gfind results here. Database pending.

I have two Identical 4TB drives which share files, so if one crashes we'll be fine.

The 5s project has a large database of OCA spaceships that you may be interested in. There's also David Eppstein's glider database, which is unfortunately down at the moment, but is usually located at fano.ics.uci.edu.

The idea for this project is to have lots of spaceships archived.

Yeah, I was just pointing you to some existing archives, in case you wanted to incorporate them into your own.

What I really need help with is rummaging through old threads. I'm just scanning through the OCA subforum for rules, and doing some quick gfind searches.

In addition to the 5S Project, there are two other collections that I'm aware of:
The Spacceships in Life-like automata thread which is a supplement to David Eppstein's glider database, and has been curated in a similar manner;
And Sokwe's moving object collection of spaceships in CGoL.

He means the blank lines in the RLEs, which are not normally included but presumably a result of some idiosyncrasy of the program he is using to compile these results.

The reason there are spaces in my RLEs is that my c compiler's command prompt doesn't go to next line, it uses spaces.

Don't invent wheel! Use (or extend) existing collection formats, like Eppstein's glider.db's. Note: it is also capable to store oscillators, they are basically spaceships with speed 0.
