Re: The Hunt for a Strong Pascal-Mod-3 Replicator
I suppose the next thing to look for would be the three-copy version of this, i.e. a replicator bound by the rule in which there are always three copies at generation (3^n)*period. We already have examples for Rule 150, the two-state version of this: x = 1, y = 5, rule = B2a/S1e3eiy5i o$o2$o$o! Her...

(This is unrelated to the python script request above) I need apgsearch for windows precompiled to search xfactorio/C1, xfactorio/D8_1, B3S23/D8_1, and B3S23/Pseudo-C1. Unfortunately Golly doesn't (yet? version 4.2) support the isotropic hexagonal rulestring notation. I believe the following weighted-neighbourhood rulestring is an equivalent definition of the rule, so patterns can work unchanged: <snip rle> While the isotropic hexagonal rule notation isn't support...

- In odd-numbered generations, it's B3/S2345678; - In even-numbered generations, it's B78/S01234678. It is not - running it as an alternating rule (B3/S2345678|B78/S01234678) does not work. No, it is. i.e. iddi01 is correct. The first generation is gen 0, which is even, so the corresponding alterna...

There's been some amazing progress on this project over the last few years, now over 1.05 million spaceship speeds in the database (including recent posts not yet added to the database). I made a slight modification to LCAS in order to be able to search for such a p2. Didn't find one in asym search up to 7x6, 8x5, 11x4 or various D2+ and D4+ searches with up to ~40 independent cells within the bounding box. Also no result in 9x9 C2 search. What rule has the most periods 1-n/ or 2-n from a consecutive line of cells? with cells that are not nesciscerrially in a line but all 1d, max 1d spaceships in a rule?
